A CONTROLLED BURN

When others lash out in anger at us, or act in an aggressive or adversarial manner, it's tempting to fight back.  So, we argue, yell, and scream, or react defensively in some way.  We try to fight fire with fire.  Yet, in the end, we usually wind up even more frustrated than before, and, often, nothing is accomplished.

The next time someone attempts to engage you in a blazing battle, try a "controlled burn."  Your inner confidence will appear unshakable, and that confidence will translate into your seeing most arguments and "fires" as relatively small stuff.
