ASK QUESTIONS SO ... Nina George

Most people only ask questions so they can listen to themselves talk.  Or hear something they are able to cope with, but please, nothing that might get the better of them.  'Do you love me?' is one of those questions. There should be a total ban on it"

TRUE LOVE >< ATTACHMENT - Dalai Lama

To generate true love, you need to know how it differs from attachment.

ãi;
Khi người ấy ra lệnh giết;
Con vật cảm thọ khổ ưu lúc bị giết;

HOA ARTICHOKE

The globe artichoke (Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus)[1] is a variety of a species of thistle cultivated as a food.
The edible portion of the plant consists of the flower buds before the flowers come into bloom. The budding artichoke flower-head is a cluster of many budding small flowers (an inflorescence) together with many bracts, on an edible base. Once the buds bloom, the structure changes to a coarse, barely edible form.

LISTEN TO THE HEART - Paulo Coelho

[...]

As they moved along, the boy tried to listen to his heart.

It was not easy to do; in earlier times, his heart had always been ready to tell its story, but lately that wasn't true.  There had been times when his heart spent hours telling of its sadness, and at other times it became so emotional over the desert sunrise that the boy had to hide his tears.  His heart beat fastes when it spoke to the boy of treasure, and more slowly when the boy stared entranced at the endless horizons of the desert.  But his heart was never quiet, even when the boy and the alchemist had fallen into silence.

"Why do we have to listen to our hearts?" the boy asked, when they had made camp that day.

"Because, wherever your heart is, that is where you'll find your treasure."

"But my heart is agitated," the boy said.  "It has its dreams, it gets emotional, and it's become passionate over a woman of the desert.  It asks things of me, and it keeps me from sleeping many nights, when I'm thinking about her."

"Well, that's good.  Your heart is alive.  Keep listening to what it has to say ...

The boy's heart began to speak of fear.  It told him stories it had heard from the Soul of the World, stories of men who sought to find his treasure, or that he might die there in the desert...

"My heart is a traitor," the boy said to the alchemist, when they had paused to rest the horses. "It doesn't want me to go on."

"That makes sense," the alchemist answered.  "Naturally it's afraid that, in pursuing your dream, you might lose everything you've won."

"Well, then, why should I listen to my heart?"

"Because you will never again be able to keep it quiet.  Even if you pretend not to have heard what it tells you, it will always be there inside you, repeating to you what you're thinking about life and about the world."

"You mean I should listen, even if it's treasonous?"

"Treason is a blow that comes unexpectedly.  If you know your heart well, it will never be able to do that to you.  Because you'll know its dreams and wishes, and will know how to deal with them.  You will never be able to escape from your heart.  So it's better to listen to what it has to say.  That way, you'll never have to fear an unanticipated blow."

DUNES CHANGED WITH SAME SANDS - Paulo Coelho

The Alchemist (PortugueseO Alquimista) is a novel by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho first published in 1988. Originally written in Portuguese, it has been translated into at least 67 languages as of October 2009.[1] An allegoricalnovel, The Alchemist follows a young Andalusian shepherd in his journey to Egypt, after having a recurring dream of finding treasure there.
The book is an international bestseller. According to AFP, it has sold more than 65 million copies in 56 different languages, becoming one of the best-selling books in history and setting the Guinness World Record for most translated book by a living author.[2]

[...]

People were shouting at the new arrivals, dust obscured the desert sun, and the children of the oasis were bursting with excitement at the arrival of the strangers.  The alchemist saw the tribal chiefs greet the leader of the caravan, and converse with him at length.
But none of that mattered to the alchemist.  He had already seen many people come and go, and the desert remained as it was.  He had seen kings and beggars walking the desert sands.  The dunes were changed constantly by the wind, yet these were the same sands he had know since he was a child.  He always  enjoyed seeing the happiness that the travelers experienced when, after weeks of yellow sand and blue sky, they first saw the green of the date palms.  Maybe God created the desert so that man could appreciate the date trees, he thought.

LABYRINTHS

Many labyrinths set in floors or on the ground are large enough that the path can be walked.  Unicursal patterns have been used historically both in group ritual and for private meditation, and are increasingly found for therapeutic use in hospitals and hospices.
