Royal Boat show - ANH QUÂN

Dear all,

If you were in London today, I would ask you all to go down river Thames to watch Royal Boat show. But there were thousands and thousands of people standing along river bank, it was impossible to see Boat Shows and British Royal Family.
But you could do something else. If you think that "We don't need a Royal family" , you can participate to this group to tell your opinions

Venice, Los Angeles

Colorful Venice is a beachfront district on the Westside of Los Angeles, California, United States. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venice,_Los_Angeles) 

Venice of America was founded by tobacco millionaire Abbot Kinney in 1905 as a beach resort town, 14 miles (23 km) west of Los Angeles. He and his partner Francis Ryan had bought two miles (3.24 km) of oceanfront property south of Santa Monica in 1891. They built a resort town on the north end of the property called Ocean Park, which was soon annexed to Santa Monica. 

After Ryan died, Kinney and his new partners continued building south of Navy Street in the unincorporated territory. After the partnership dissolved in 1904, Kinney built on the marshy land on the south end of the property, intending to create a seaside resort like its namesake in Italy.

Not only people in California  but also people from other states enjoy time in Venice ...

Bộ tem Beegees - ANH QUÂN

Dear Huệ,

Tuổi thơ của anh em nhà họ Gibb là ờ Brisbane , nơi Huệ đang cư ngụ . Nhưng theo người Anh thì họ lại kêu HOME của nhà họ GIBB lại trên đảo Isle of Man vì họ sanh tại đó, rồi qua Manchester , tiếp theo là di dân qua Úc châu nhưng vào thời thập niên 60 muốn thành công về ca nhạc thì phài hát tại London hay Hoa Kỳ . Nên vậy họ trở qua Anh quốc.

Vào ngày 1 tháng 7 năm 2009 , đảo Isle of Man phát hành bộ tem kỷ niệm 50 đời ca nhạc của Bee-gees (1959-2009). Họ đã mời hai anh em họ Gibb (vì chỉ còn 2 người giờ thì còn 1) về lại quê để chào đón bộ tem vừa ra đời.

Vì là người sưu tầm Stamps từ thuở bé , nên tớ có biết một vài quốc gia bên Phi châu có ra bộ tem Bee-gees nhiều năm về trước nhưng họ làm cẩu thả và không có một  giá trị nào cả. Nhưng bộ tem tại đảo Isle of Man thì hoàn toàn khác biệt từ chất giấy , hình ảnh trên stamps và tất cả có bản quyền.

Isle of Man tuy thuộc khối Liên Hiệp Anh mà vẫn có những tự trị riêng như tiền và stamps . Ngoài ra hòn đảo này thuế thu nhập đánh thấp hơn trong nước Anh nên một số người có tiền qua đây ký thác nhà Bank để khỏi bị đánh thuế cao.

Vì nhiều người Việt mình không biết đảo Isle of Man ở đâu nên ai cũng nghĩ anh em nhà Gibb là gốc tại Úc.

Để một vài tấm ảnh hai anh em Gibb về lại quê và bộ stamp. tất nhiên người sưu tầm Stamp như Quân thì khi bộ stamp này ra đời là phải đi mua rồi.
