The flower is called oostindische kers in Dutch, Nasturtium in Latin It is an annual plant. Last year it was all over my terrace, so I picked it out and it did not come back.
It is very easy to sow, but you have to sow in May – June, so maybe it is too late now. But a package of seeds cost only a few euro’s.
The plant is eatable, you can put the flowers and the leaves in a salade.
I will buy some seeds (if I can find it) and will give it to him tonight as a birthday gift for him.
