A little fun fact about Zayn: when he is into something, he is REALLY into it.
When he was little, we was into shapes. He LOVED shapes and knew all of 2D-3D shapes before he turned 2. Then he found his obsession in monster trucks and hot wheels for almost 2 years. We started collecting monster trucks and hot wheels. He knew all of their names. He played monster trucks, slept monster trucks, ate monster trucks, bathed monster trucks, everything monster trucks. His obsession was real, hence his birthday cake and Halloween costume last year. Earlier this year, he discovered Mario Kart. So we put his monster trucks away and started collecting Mario Kart characters and race cars. He learned their names (even the ones I had no idea that they existed). He started talking about his birthday since this summer and he asked for a Mario and Luigi theme birthday, and he also wanted to be Mario for Halloween. So mommy and daddy went ahead and planned for a Mario 5th birthday for him. Until…….he found a new obsession right before his birthday: Minecraft. He has his mind set on having a Minecraft birthday cake. He wants to wear Minecraft shirts everyday, and all he talks about is…., you guess it, Minecraft.
So here it is, a Minecraft cake that mommy had to pull together at the last minute for her birthday boy, and so so so glad that she can still impress her kids with her cake making skills: chocolate cake layered with vanilla cake, chocolate icing on the inside and vanilla icing on the outside, dark chocolate peppermint ganache drizzle, and mini KitKats.
Happy 5th birthday, my Zaynie Boy! I love you so so much and I cannot wait to see what you will be into next. I just need a little more heads up next time ok! 🥰
