When i read your note in the new year, my heart broke for you. It was only a few days ago that mama mentioned a little more about the terrible circumstances beyond your heartfelt words to the world on Facebook. There's not much i can say and sadly has been the case for the majority of our lives, not much i can do either while we're so far apart but that doesn't mean that I am any less willing or that the bond of family is any less strong. You are the sweetest of cousins and seeing you on my brief trip to the states remains among the fondest memories of my entire time there. You are golden em and deserve every ounce of happiness this world has to offer.
Unspoken as it is always but I'll take the chance to say that "i am here for you em". If only for an ear that will listen to you in the middle of the night when no one is awake (being in another time zone *can* be useful).
It is warming to see you in the embrace of everyone in Cali, i hope that the time there brings you comfort, solace and clarity. Should we be so blessed to see you here in Australia seeking the same love i tell you, you will find it you will have a cool older cousin (maybe not as cool as anh Xiu, but still pretty cool) to stuff you full of good food, show you pretty things and help you create some new memories you can cherish.
