Easter, also called Pascha, is the most important religious feast in the Christian liturgical year.[1] Christians celebrate this day in observance of their belief that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, now estimated to have taken place between the years AD 26 and AD 36. Many non-religious cultural elements have become part of the holiday, and those aspects are often celebrated by many Christians and non-Christians alike.
The egg is widely used as a symbol of new life just as a chick might hatch from the egg. 
Easter eggs are specially decorated eggs given to celebrate the Easter holiday or springtime. The oldest tradition is to use dyed and painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as jellybeans. These eggs are often hidden, usually by the Easter Bunny, for children to find on Easter morning.

Op zoek naar eieren. Soms echte eieren beschilderd (zelf of gekocht in de winkel), maar meestal van chocolade. De eieren worden verstopt door de paashaas in de tuin of in huis. Zo te zien, in Australië, Verenigde Saten of Nederland, overal hetzelfde.
