Guess what kind of special late-night food I was served
at a decent but crowded local restaurant in Phan Thiet last July '07 !
First, the waiter served me a bowl of nước mắm
in which floating ground pork and some tót mỡ -fried fat …
(we can choose either trứng gà, trứng vịt or trứng cút)
Let's have a look at the way người ta đổ bánh căn :
.. pouring a kind of ground rice mixed with water,
into specially molded ceramic dish ...
... cooking over the charcoal for less than one minute.
Alouis once wrote to me :
Eten in allerlei vormen behoort echt tot je favoriete dingen, nu ook in foto's. Twee dingen in een. Eten en foto's maken.
(Food in all kind of forms really belongs to your favorites, now also in photo's. Two in one. Eating and making photo's. )
He's right : I did enjoy both taking photos and eating this "light and airy" bánh căn, going so well with the sourness of green starfruit & the "bùi" of eggs and meat, served with nước mắm chua chua ngọt ngọt cay cay ...

hahaha ... Huong oi, you should post more about food. You're GOOD at it. :)
aaahhhh!
ok, now we know what Huong is so good at...That new camera is all about food now.
