When we look at a pen, then we are able to see that the pen is the object of our eyes. Often, when we are angry, we forget that anger is just the object of us, like the pen. It is being recognized by us. “This is not ours.” So the anger is still there, but the energy of mindfulness permeates the anger, and the anger is diminished by that recognition.
