For those of you that don’t know, this past week, Texas was hit with Winter Storm URI. While it was going to be a time of quarantined celebration for many with Valentine’s Day, Lunar New Year and Mardis Gras, things took a devastating turn. Many were left without food, water, power, and more.

I know many are hoping to re-do their festivities whilst supporting small business, so I wanted to share a small business that brought a little more joy to that rough week.

@breakfast_me_happy is an ADORABLE breakfast business that offers breakfast boards, fresh juices, and hot chocolate bombs! Chi is literally the sweetest business owner and goes above and beyond my expectations every time. She made arrangements for me to get my order early as she acknowledged the weather wouldn’t be safe for me to drive in. That week, Gavin and I had no food, water, or electricity... then eventually our home flooded and we got hit with another family emergency. Anywho, we were thankfully able to seek refuge at my sister’s home when her power turned back on. Oh my goodness when we got there, we immediately made a hot chocolate bomb- pure joy and happiness. These cute marshmallows and side snacks with our order were the cherry on top. Chi truly pays attention to the little details and executes the cutest orders! I mean, LOOK AT THAT LITTLE FIRECRACKER GARNISH. PURE BEAUTY. The hot chocolate was warm, comforting, and so fun to make!

While this time, I didn’t order her other items, I have had her juices before and they are SO FRESH AND DELICIOUS. They’re incredibly refreshing and for a great price! If you’re looking for a Valentine’s Day do-over and love breakfast/brunch options without eating out and risking the pandemic, consider a board, hot cocoa, and juice from Breakfast Me Happy!

Chúng tôi được người anh, pháp hữu Doãn Quốc Hưng cho hay cụ Doãn Quốc Sỹ năm nay vừa tròn 99 tuổi ta. Có lần cùng Ba và Htr. Quảng Pháp ghé thăm Bác tại tư gia và được bác tặng cuốn sách mỏng, Vào Thiền. Chúng tôi có hỏi Bác trong dịp này, nghệ thuật sống Thiền là gì? và bí mật Bác sống lâu như vậy!

Bác ung dung trả lời, đó là "Nếp Sống Thiền" hằng ngày của mình. Bác nói: "Bây giờ tôi không còn ngồi thiền nữa, mà là sống thiền. Tôi giữ tâm mình an nhiên tự tại, không để cho những ngoại cảnh lôi cuốn, và thăng trầm của cuộc đời lôi kéo mình." Rồi bác đọc một bài thơ với giọng còn rất tốt.

Nay nhân năm sinh nhật 99 của bác, toàn thể BBT Thư Viện Phật Việt, Lotus Media, and Bodhi Media kính chúc nhà văn lão thành, một bậc tiền bối hữu công cho nền Văn hoá và Giáo dục Việt Nam cũng như Phật giáo Việt Nam sức khoẻ an khanh, đạo nghiệp chí thành viên mãn.
