I.

Ông ngoại của đám con tôi – cụ Tú Mỡ - đã từng có câu thơ về các con của ngài:

Năm trai ba gái tám tên
Trung, Hiền, Thảo, Dũng, Hùng, Chuyên, Vỹ, Cường

Tôi cũng bắt chước ông Ngoại đề cập tám đứa con mình bằng câu
Bốn trai bốn gái tám tên …
Nhưng rồi tôi ngừng ở đó vì các con tôi theo thứ tự : Thanh, Khánh, Liên, Thái, Vinh, Hưng, Hiển, Hương thì không hợp vần bằng trắc với câu thơ sáu chữ trên. Tôi đành ngừng ở đó.

II.

Chuyện Kiều xưa của cụ Nguyễn Du có câu:

Đầu lòng hai ả tố nga

Trường hợp của tôi thì:

Đầu lòng ba ả tố nga

Sau đó bốn con trai và bế mạc bằng con Út gái.

Theo thứ tự Doãn Quốc Vinh đứng thứ năm nên anh chị em cùng bằng hữu vẫn gọi theo thủ tục miền Nam là 6 Vinh.

Đúng như lời anh Đinh Quang Anh Thái khi phỏng vấn Doãn Quốc Vinh tại Little Saigon Radio: “Chọn chủ đề Ao Nhà Lung Linh phải chăng anh vẫn luôn luôn hoài niệm về những kỷ niệm nơi quê nhà?”. Riêng với tôi khi đọc chủ đề ao nhà lung linh của Doãn Quốc Vinh, tôi liên tưởng ngay đến bài ca dao gợi tình gợi cảm bất hủ mà không một người Việt nào trong chúng ta không thuộc nằm lòng. Bài ca dao mang tên “Đêm buồn” :

Đêm qua ra đứng bờ ao,
Trong cá cá lặn, trông sao sao mờ.
Buồn trông con nhện giăng tơ,
Nhện ơi nhện hỡi nhện chờ mối ai.
Buồn trông chênh chếch sao mai,
Sao ơi sao hỡi nhớ ai sao mờ.
Đêm đêm tưởng giải ngân hà,
Chuôi sao Tinh Đẩu đã ba năm tròn.
Đá mòn nhưng dạ chẳng mòn,
Tào Khê nước chảy hãy còn trơ trơ.

Hãy nhắm mắt thả hồn theo thần lực kỳ ảo của âm thanh từng chữ từng cu, từng nhịp điệu để rồi khám phá lấy muôn một cái đẹp thần sầu của bài thơ!

Quả vậy dân tộc Lạc Việt sinh trưởng trên các miền đồi núi từ Phú Thọ xuống Bắc Giang, qua Vĩnh Yên, Bắc Ninh rồi lại dần dần từ các miền này tràn xuống đồng bằng để cấy lúa và các làng được thành lập trên những gò ca, chung quanh l những ruộng nước. Khung cảnh khởi đầu bài ca dao không phải ở chốn kinh kỳ gió bụi mà là khung cảnh yên tĩnh trên bờ ao một làng Lạc Việt. Có được bối cảnh yên tĩnh nơi thôn giã đó, tâm hồn mới trầm tĩnh mở rộng để suy tư cùng vạn vật. Có suy tư cùng vạn vật mới có thể nhìn vạn vật bằng tâm tưởng. Thật vậy, chỉ nhìn bằng tâm tưởng mới có thể vào lúc đó thấy được rằng : Trông cá cá lặn, trông sao sao mờ.

Cũng như chỉ nhìn bằng tâm tưởng mới có thể thấy vào lúc đó con nhn giăng tơ. Như nàng Kiều lúc ngồi trên bờ biển trước lầu Ngưng Bích, nhìn bằng tâm tưởng thấy : Hoa trôi man mác biết là về đâu?

Lý do từ chủ đề Ao Nhà Lung Linh của Doãn Quốc Vinh đã gợi ý tới hồi niệm lại bài ca bất hủ của dân tộc “Đêm qua ra đứng bờ ao…” là như vậy!

Đối với Vinh, bố đã ghi lại cảm nghĩ để tặng Vinh vào dịp khai mạc phòng triển lãm như một trao tặng thân thương của cha mừng con trên con đường phục vụ nghệ thuật.

Celebrated Vietnamese Artist and Interior Designer, Doan Quoc Vinh Presents First Art Collection in Little Saigon Saturday, Nov. 17th 2007, 10 a.m – 5 p.m





...Born in Saigon, Vietnam, in 1961, Vinh entered the world of interior designs in the early 1990s. He collaborated with many of Vietnam’s premier painters, architects, interior designers, and sculptors who, like him, came of age after the Fall of Saigon in 1975.

...His creative arts include paintings, vases, lightings, decorative mirrors, custom order life-size sculptures in marble, bronze and ceramic, room dividers and mixed-media artworks. Among his beautiful creations, Vinh is perhaps most well-known for his exquisitely hand-engraved wood panels that feature contemporary art motifs as well as traditional images reflecting historical inspirations of Vietnam. Every artwork is hand-crafted by him and his skilled assistants, including each frame that showcases his paintings.

.. “I would like every art piece to have a human touch, a spirit and a soul because I put my heart into everything that I create,” Vinh said. “Everything from the gallery is hand-crafted. Nothing is manufactured by machines.”




...While success seemed inevitable for this talented artist, his early years, however, were wrought with anguish. His father, Doan Quoc Sy, Vietnam’s famous novelist and social essayist on the human condition, was suddenly taken from their family and sent to prison by the Communist government under false charges that he was a spy for the U.S. government.

“When I think back of that period, I don’t know how my family survived those dark days,” said Vinh, pausing to reflect. “We had nothing to live on. Life was very difficult for us. It was truly the love and support of my mother and family that held us together.”

To get Gold award, Eric needs to collect 4 x Silver Awards.
To have Silver one, Eric need to have 4 x Level 2 Awards.
To have Level 2 one, Eric need to have 4 x Level 1 Awards.

Basically Eric have collected a total of 64 academic awards in the last 2 years !!!

My Favorite Holiday year 2006-07 WITH MY COUSINS!

It was a great year as it begins I had started 7th grade but for the mention of it I kinda miss the year that I was in DOERRE THE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT THE BEST I HAD EVER HAD! But since I begin in the new school named KRIMMEL INTERMEDATE SCHOOL the coolest School in Klein ISD. But since I had enjoyed that very first day at school all the things back in the past in DOERRE that I had fun, enjoying in class I had ever had! Heck even with my cousin from Vietnam OH That very day after Halloween I got lots and lots of candy just like my sister has too, Then he and his little brother and SI TAM which it calls him TI OUI and my cousin named TI NO OR NEIGN Doan OR the name I can spell but that’s ok There parents were named Ha That’s my cousins mom And their dad was Hung Which was the funny guy! They are part of our family who's the last name named Doan. Since they are there after Halloween day it was Monday OHHHHHHHHHHHHH you Can't imagine how worst my day was I Really hate Mondays at school time I usually like it on Tuesday because It can make our day faster and faster all the way to FRIDAY now that’s my DAY!!!! So when I got home I saw my cousin NO he was kind of interested in one of my things I told him and I got too in one of him too. He plays the violin and me too and DOERRE which I had so he plays a cool song that is fast I like one of his songs they are really interested and it was DECEMBER the Christmas Spirit that me and my cousins Really Love and just in time my cousin went to school and do as my little cousin too. NO just asked me a question about my school DOERRE Where is his locker so I helped him out by the colors he was getting ready to learn and I think excited about it. Now it’s the time of our day about the Christmas violin concert which I was really looking afford to it cause it’s the day that my other cousin is coming here WOW that’s a lot of relatives in our house his name was BI OR Called it Andy in school and even my cousin too her name was TOU. They were in Klein oak high school. After the concert we played then they showed us everything I can't imagine and also there mom and dads too its named VIEN and ION. OHHHH it was fun me and my cousin and my older cousin rode a bike also my cousins dad too we went there around the neighborhood it was kinda cold but fun. Even our Christmas too it was fun EVERYBODY WAS THERE!.

After a few weeks later my parents and my cousins parents agreed that my cousins parents had to live in the old house we just sell. That day was Saturday I helped them with everything boxes and chairs too! AND FINALLY ITS SUMMER after school was really tried and all the people was yelling and screaming because the last day of school then when we got off the our bus stop we ran and ran as fast as we could because it summer we had fun when my cousins came and visited our house and visited their house! But that day got ended because one when its July 4 or the 5th they planned to move to California I was shocked by the way I wondered this is some serious bullshit that it was going to happened and expectedly that I was going to plan. I am not going to play one of my worst friend. May it Called Justin and his Death tone brother named BI just like my cousin or named as Dustin What an awful name! that guy had been rude to my cousins and they had got to respect one of them well me and my cousin got an XBOX 360! We played the game HALO it really interesting actually they got an series of HALO"S 12and 3 its awesome by the way we played it by the end of the day that they had to move SO that my only time that my cousin is going so we said good bye and all that stuff. The next morning I had woke up I saw my cousin's dad named Hung and VIEN I thought what are they doing here? So they had to packed their stuff too and head to California, MY cousins and their parents were at the airport first early at like 6:00 so here I am now. Since is the first day at KRIMMEL I miss that day now in DOERRE. When I first walked in that game room of mines it reminded me of my cousins staying in there so finally I had to walk to the bus by my self I do miss NO walking with to school but I'm in my self. WHICH WHY THEY Called me saying how are they doing in they are doing in their new high school named Edison Carter high school so I can see them during the Holidays or in SUMMER!
